Key facts:
Provision of safe water, hygiene sanitation, Water supply and sanitation infrastructure.
Project Background:
Adequate water supply and sanitation infrastructure remains achallenge for Uganda’s long term sustainable socio-economic transformation with only 65% of the population in rural areas and 73% in urban areas having access to safe water.
The Water Sanitation Development Facility(WSDF) framework with the support of the Ministry of Water and Environment planned to undertake implementation of the Identified Strategic Small Towns Water supply and Sanitation projects through feasibility studies, Engineering detailed designs and construction supervision of the same.
Objective of the Project:
The overall objective of the project was to carry out design review and construction supervision of Kabembe-Kalagi-Nagalama, Namulonge-Kiwenda and Busiika-Bamunanika towns Piped Water Supply Systems. The three (3) key project subcomponents are:
- Piped Water Supply Systems Design review
- Construction supervision and;
- Low key Systems performance monitoring during the defects Liability Period.
Scope of the Project:
The assignment consisted of two major components
- Design review of Kabembe-Kalagi-Nagalama (Lot 3), Namulonge-Kiwenda (Lot 10) and Busiika- Bamunanika (Lot 7) Piped water supply systems, located in Mukono, Wakiso, and Luwero districts respectively.
- Construction supervision of Kabembe-Kalagi- Nagalama (Lot 3), Namulonge-Kiwenda (Lot 10) and Busiika-Bamunanika (Lot 7) Piped water supply systems, located in Mukono, Wakiso, and Luwero districts respectively
