EACOP: Early Civil Works – Access Roads Design

Project Description

ICS were contracted to prepare the detailed engineering design of MCPY-4 Campsite (Marshalling yard) and all the project access roads leading to the 4Nos campsites as well as access road to Pump Station 2 (PS2) in Sembabule. The project access roads are categorized into Temporary Access Roads (TARs) located adjacently to each camp, Permanent Access Roads (PARs) only adjacent to the Pump Stations and Existing Road Upgrades (ERUs). These access roads are meant to ease the transportation of materials and equipment to and from the Campsites during construction. Due to its location, MCPY-4 Campsite is intended to be a Marshalling Yard to store shipped-in equipment from the Uganda-Tanzania border before redistribution to the other sites.

Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by ICS:

• Preparation of Class 1 Documents and Project Execution documents like; method statements, HSE plan, security plan QA/QC plan and project execution plan.
• Stakeholder engagements between district local leaders and the respective PAPs.
• Topographic surveys of all the Campsites and their respective access roads.
• Geotechnical and materials investigation of only MCPY-4 Campsite and the project access roads leading to all the rest.
• Road Conditional Assessment of project access roads
• Hydrological Assessment of MCPY-4 Campsite and project access roads
• Detailed engineering designs including geometric design of access roads, pavement design, drainage design and grading of MCPY-4
• Preparation of Engineering drawings and MTOs.
• Preparation of design drawings and reports.
